Imbolc, February 3

This was our Brigid Tree. In celebration of Imbolc, the day halfway between the Winter Soltice and the Vernal Equinox, the students decorated a Brigid Tree. Brigid (or Bride, or Saint Bridget) was a Celtic goddess of fire, healing and poetry who was also associated with the imminent return of spring.

In keeping with ancient tradition, Brigid was dissasembled before sundown.
